Living in Cabo Del Mar Condos
Backing up onto the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve, the Cabo del Mar condos are excellent for those who like to spend some time outside. The Bolsa Chica Wetlands are filled with paths that are easy and flat for all to walk on, all while enjoying ocean views. A bike path is also in close radius to the condos. Take it down to Huntington State Beach or continue on by connecting to the Huntington Beach Bike Trail, a trail that winds along the beach, which can lead to Main Street and even all the way down to the Santa Ana River.
Several parks surround Cabo del Mar, including Gibbs Park, Marine View Park, Carr Park, Wieder Park and Harbour View Park. Gibbs Park is excellent for picnicking and also known for its Monarch butterfly migration. Also great for its picnicking is Carr Park, where you can also grill and fish.
Cabo del Mar is not conveniently located near downtown Main Street, but is nearby several excellent shopping centers and a few smaller restaurants. Ralph’s, CVS, Walgreens and Albertsons are all close by, some even within walking distance. The Huntington Harbor Mall is home to several shops and restaurants. A Trader Joe’s is also conveniently located in the mall. Casual dining spots are located around the condominiums, such as Starbucks, Porky’s Pizza, Green Street Café and Buon Gusto.
Harbour View Elementary School, Marine View Middle School and Huntington Beach High School are the assigned schools for this neighborhood. Harbour View Elementary School, a California Distinguished School, has received a nine out of ten using the API school rating system. Test proficiency in math and English are both well above the state average. Marine View Middle School received an eight out of ten API rating and has also has testing rates above the state average. Dance and music programs are available for students.
Huntington Beach High School received a ten out of ten on the GreatSchools rating system and is also a California Distinguished School. Student testing ranks much higher than the state average in English and math proficiency. The high school has a 99% graduation rate, far above the state average of 81%. Of that group, 67% are eligible to attend a university in the Cal State University or California University system, compared to the 42% state average. The school is also the host campus for the audition-only magnet art’s program, the Academy for the Performing Arts (APA). Available programs to study at APA consist of acting, costume design, dance, dramatic production, MMET Media, MMET Popular Music, musical theatre, orchestra and technical theatre. A wide array of sports of are offered at Huntington Beach High School, including water polo, volleyball, tennis, golf, football, cross country, field hockey, basketball, soccer, wrestling, baseball, lacrosse, swimming, softball, track and surfing—in fact, Huntington Beach was the first school to ever have a Varsity surf team.
