Balboa Coves

About Balboa Coves

Nestled between Pacific Coast Highway and Newport Island lies the charming community of Balboa Coves.
Balboa Coves real estate consists of 58 custom homes and most have a view of the canals. Many of the homes have boat docks for smaller vessels.
Residents will have homeowners association dues of $150 per month and that pays for a gate to the community and a small park.
Within Walking distance of Balboa Coves you will find Hoag Hospital and Mariners Mile and of course the beach.

Balboa Coves Community

Due to the small nature of the Balboa Coves community not a lot of real estate activity happens but like in many neighborhoods over the last 3 years many residents have done some large remodeling projects while the housing market recovered.

In addition the rest of the restaurants that are in the harbor are accessible by boat if you have a small enough vessel to fit under the bridge (most duffs and power boats, no sailboats) for Newport Blvd.  The homeowners Association also does have a website but it is for residents only.

Balboa Coves Homes

Originally built in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s Balboa Coves homes have come a long way.  While there still are some original homes still standing many have been torn down and rebuilt with newer larger homes.  Balboa Coves homes will range in size from 1200 square feet all the way up to around 4000 square feet.  Most of the lots will be around 5000 square feet but there are a few that will get near 7000 square feet.  Most of the homes were originally built with two or three bedrooms but now you can find many with four and five bedrooms.
